"If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink" (John 7:37)

"If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink" (John 7:37). With great spirituality Christ Jesus taught us that if we turn to God in times of times of trial we will find our need met.

One morning my little three-year-old daughter suddenly had serious difficulty breathing, which agitated her very much. I prayed for healing; but because of my fear I was unable to see her as perfect in the image of God, Spirit. I called a Christian Science practitioner long-distance for help. Through her warm words of assurance and harmony she helped me see that my daughter's true nature was perfect. Through her prayer the little girl recovered in just a few hours. She could breathe normally, was hungry, and got up without difficulty. Error was reduced to nothing, which is all it was from the start, although our fear would have had us feel we were at a distance from God's protection.

A few days later my eldest child suffered acute and prolonged colic, which quickly incapacitated him. In the morning I called the practitioner again. She calmed my anxiety, which was very great. Her prayerful metaphysical work lifted our thoughts into grateful acknowledgment of the truth that God is our only governor. The boy quickly responded and reflected the natural state of his God-given dominion and perfection. In this way what Mrs. Eddy says was fulfilled (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 62): "Holding the  right idea of man in my mind, I can improve my own, and other people's individuality, health, and morals ...."
