From the time my brother first got his new gym bar we were raising and lowering it. One day we lowered it and were doing something called a "back pull-over." It is a stunt where you go under the bar and up on the bar. When I did it, right in the middle of it, the bar fell, and I landed on my neck and shoulder and bumped my face.
My mother and sisters helped me to our couch. Right after I got on the couch, my sister telephoned a Christian Science practitioner to pray for me. I slept a bit. When I awakened, my mother was sitting on the couch smiling at me. I asked some questions because I couldn't remember much and I was scared. My head and back hurt, and it hurt to breathe. We kept in touch with the practitioner. I kept falling asleep. Each time I awakened I was feeling better. By the middle of the afternoon I was up and around and feeling fine. The practitioner told us to know that I was a spiritual idea of God and could not be hurt. She also referred to the answer to the question "What is man?" in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. One portion reads (p. 475): "Man is idea, the image, of Love; he is not physique. He is the compound idea of God, including all right ideas."
I am so grateful for this healing. I am also grateful for the spiritual truths I learned in this experience and for the facts of God and man I am learning in a Christian Science Sunday School.
