Are You Knowing the Truth or Believing a Lie?

People are challenged daily by the belief that they and their fellowmen are victims of circumstances beyond their control, and even worse, beyond the control of God. But one can stop being a victim and become a victor by knowing what is true and what is untrue, what is real and what is unreal, what is fact and what is fable.

Christian Science teaches us to acknowledge and affirm the spiritual facts of God and His perfect creation, man and the universe, and to deny the lie, or error—anything that would threaten to interfere with or interrupt the harmonious relationship of God and His creation. Spiritual facts, or truths, are simple and logical, and they are demonstrable because they originate in divine Truth, God. Their proof and potency are confirmed throughout the Bible and particularly in the words and works of Christ Jesus. When steadfastly acknowledged and applied, these truths are unfailing and incontestable. A lie, no matter how aggressive or temptingly believable, can never contradict, countermand, or counteract the truth of God and the spirituality of His creation.

Maybe you are proving in your own life, to some degree, that man is actually God's spiritual idea, and not a mortal trying to attain better health, more supply, greater happiness, longer life. Perhaps it is becoming more natural to think of yourself as a spiritual idea, completely governed, sustained, protected, and loved by the one Father-Mother God. But are you still believing that disease is real for others, that crime is inevitable, that tragedy can strike, that inharmonious relationships are natural, or that lack can really exist? Then you are believing a lie.
