Christian Science was first brought to my notice over fifty years...
Christian Science was first brought to my notice over fifty years ago. On reading and studying Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, I was quickly healed of the smoking habit. In the Preface to Science and Health Mrs. Eddy has written (p vii), "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings."
In the First World War, while serving with the Army, I sustained a leg injury for which I was discharged as medically unfit for further military service. This was before I knew of Christian Science. At times this condition had manifested itself in a painful stiffness of the knee joint. Through my own understanding of Christian Science, the knee was healed.
Some years ago I was absent from my office for about three months on account of illness. A medical certificate had to be produced to cover this absence, as I was employed as a civil servant. The doctor named my illness general debility. During this time I did not resort to medication of any kind. With the prayerful help of a Christian Science practitioner, I relied entirely on Science and recovered completely.
