How far have we progressed in Christian Science?

A Simple Test

People are often remembered for something they said, sometimes for famous last words. In this bicentennial year, stirring words of the American patriots come readily to thought. Familiar indeed are Patrick Henry's "Give me liberty, or give me death!" and Nathan Hale's "I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country."

After her discovery of Christian Science Mrs. Eddy committed her life to giving this Science to the world and founding the Christian Science movement. Her book Science and Health contains ideas that have revolutionized the lives of people the world over. Her words, too, have been quoted freely, but how many people are familiar with her last written words?

In reaching out one day for a deeper awareness of the already existing Truth, I began to feel profound gratitude for Mrs. Eddy. As I proceeded along these paths, I gained an increasing appreciation of her unique place and divinely motivated purpose. With awe I recalled these last written words of hers: "God is my life."
