"To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings" and "The time for thinkers has come." These sentences taken from the preface of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. vii), so profoundly opened my thought that an instantaneous healing followed, as described below. This wonderful book explains the Bible, answers questions about God and man, and shows the earnest seeker how to heal through scientific reason and prayer. I am deeply grateful that Christian Science came to me, and that I was able to accept this wonderful truth.

I attended the Sunday School of an orthodox denomination, but religion was not discussed in our home, nor was it applied. Much of my childhood was spent in a continuous series of illnesses, several of which were very serious and left me a frail individual. The mental atmosphere in our home was one of constant fear of new sickness. Christian Science was presented to my mother, but she never truly accepted it. However, throughout my growing years I did occasionally attend Christian Science church services with her, and I can remember reading with interest the chapter on Fruitage in Science and Health. In later years it was proved how divine Love had been guiding and directing me.

After leaving home I began attending a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, in a small city where I was employed. Subsequently, I joined the church. In the Bible it says (Mal. 3:10): "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it." Immediately into my experience blessings literally did pour.
