Spiritual Understanding Brings Rapport
Teaching a high-school-age Sunday School class can be a warm, rich time. And the work demanded in the teaching can bring us and our pupils spiritual gains we'll enjoy permanently.
Like many others, I've found that good teaching demands real love—love for the students, for ourselves, and for the teaching. Love, working in the class, brings understanding and rapport. And understanding—this warm, intelligent sense of knowing—nurtures the developing knowledge of the truth.
When we speak of "love" and "understanding," however, we must be sure to lift ourselves to the highest sense of these two concepts. Christian Science reveals Love as God. "God is love." I John 4:8; Each one of the instances of the love of Love in the world around us every day gives us at least a glimpse of God, the one divine Love.
