Healing Through Exalted Thought

One whose thought has been spiritually exalted, if only for a moment, knows the sacredness and joy of such an experience. He feels the presence of God and the lessening of the fears that often seem a part of human living. He perceives more clearly the allness of God and the unreality of evil.

How do we attain this inspired state? How do we lift our thought above the harassing, discouraging thoughts that seem to hold us in bondage? How do we arrive at the sublime state of consciousness that cancels out false, material concepts, brings spiritual reality to light, and heals the sick and the sinning?

Christian Science gives us the answer: it is to draw closer to God and understand Him better. It is imperative that we gain an increasingly clear view of God as the sole cause, the only creator, the governor of all: infinite Love, Mind, Principle, Spirit. A higher concept of God enables us to get a more distinct perception of man made in His image, Godlike, perfect, inseparable from the one cause and Principle of existence. It permits us to see with increasing clarity the impotence and never-presence of error or mortal mind— the belief of life in matter—in all its forms. With a growing understanding of these basic facts, we can expect our thought to be elevated to touch spiritual reality, enabling us to heal and save others.
