It Takes Radical Reliance
What a glorious prophecy of success in healing is implied in Mrs. Eddy's statement in Science and Health, "Only through radical reliance on Truth can scientific healing power be realized." Science and Health, p. 167; Radical reliance! How can we attain it?
In his Sermon on the Mount, Christ Jesus declares: "No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon." Matt. 6:24; Do these words sound uncompromising? Are they practical? Actually, they are imbued with loving guidance for us all.
In endeavoring to follow the teachings of the Master, students of Christian Science learn to trust God, divine Spirit, more and more. As they advance in their understanding of Spirit, their reliance on material means and methods of healing lessens, until it is renounced.
