"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new" (II Cor. 5:17). This has happened in my life since Christian Science was introduced to me several years ago.

I was on the verge of complete nervous exhaustion, when a friend asked a Christian Scientist to call me. The Scientist shared with me the answer to the question "What is man?" found in the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 475). It includes these words: "The Scriptures inform us that man is made in the image and likeness of God." I held to this truth. The Scientist said, "God loves you right now, and He has given you dominion over all things." Then she said she would treat me through prayer. I was very grateful. That night as I lay in bed, I felt as if a great weight had been lifted from me. For the first time in a month I had a good night's sleep.

My children and I accepted an invitation to attend a branch church on Sunday. We felt love all around us. After the service, when my five-year-old daughter came from Sunday School, she said there was so much peace and quiet there. I told my Scientist friend that Christian Science was for me, but that I could never give up my doctor, since I had been under his care for several years for an injured back and took tranquilizers every four hours.
