A Saving Education

In the Mideast two thousand years ago a unique teacher, Christ Jesus, was born. He dealt with and demonstrated the final, irreducible truths of being. And in the laboratory of his own life, and in the wider circle of the general public, he proved in healing and coping with challenges from the natural world the validity of what he knew and both explicitly and implicitly taught.

He was no ordinary instructor and demonstrator, for what he imparted so delivered people from mortal superstitions and ignorance, and the limitations associated with these, that he's known as the Saviour. He was impelled by immortal Love and informed by infinite Mind. We, now, can be scientifically educated in the measure that we recognize this and move in the direction he indicated in his teachings and life. Going in a straight line to the core of the matter, Mary Baker Eddy says, "Jesus of Nazareth taught and demonstrated man's oneness with the Father, and for this we owe him endless homage." Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 18;

Scientifically-based education embodies this saving, immortal truth: Man is one with God as effect is one with cause. The practicality of this truth is filled out as we develop an understanding of the synonyms Christian Science employs for God—Life, Love, Truth, Principle, Soul, Spirit, Mind.
