I feel I would not be here today were it not for Christian Science
I feel I would not be here today were it not for Christian Science. In 1927, I was given one year to live by several doctors. Back of my illness was my grieving over the passing on of my brother. I felt I didn't want to live. One doctor suggested that I try Christian Science, so my parents took me to a practitioner and got me a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, which, together with the Bible, I began to read. I was healed both of the illness and the grief.
I soon joined a branch Church of Christ, Scientist. Since that time I have had many healings and blessings, worked out through the spiritual understanding this wonderful religion gives of God and of man's relationship to Him. Two years after the above-mentioned healing I married, and later I had a son. Through Christian Science and the help of a practitioner there was a harmonious birth.
More recently, while living alone, I awoke early one morning critically ill and unable to get out of bed. I was able to call a practitioner miles away, who assured me that divine Love was with me and would meet my every need, and that I could trust God's tender ever-presence. The minute I heard those words of reassurance I felt God's presence. I believe I made seven calls to the practitioner that day, but by the next day I was able to get up and do the necessary things. The healing was soon complete.
