My Private Blizzard
Have you ever been in the midst of a raging blizzard entirely of your own making? I have.
After a heavy snowfall I cleared the front windshield and rear window of my car and drove off. As I entered the main highway and accelerated to normal cruising speed, my car was engulfed in a sudden severe blizzard. The snow almost overwhelmed the frantic efforts of the windshield wipers. A glance in the mirror revealed only swirling snow back of me. This was puzzling because my first impression of the day had been favorable.
Then I realized what had happened. My blizzard measured about twenty feet long. No one else on the highway was experiencing it. My private blizzard was no more than the accumulated snow on my car caught up by the wind as I accelerated.
