Many years ago I suffered from severe internal pains. The attacks were recurrent, and they came with increasing frequency, lasting several hours. This condition was intolerable, but I resisted turning to medicine, since I was already acquainted with Christian Science. Finally, family circumstances led me to submit to a clinical examination. After studying my case carefully, the medical specialist came to the conclusion that I was suffering from a rare, very serious disease. At my insistence the doctor informed me that the diagnosis of this illness showed it was fatal and that with luck I might live two years. He also told me that there was no known treatment for it and the only thing he could do for me was to give me sedatives, since the pain would be greater each time.

I sank into deep despair. I didn't know what to do. I did not tell other members of my family or any friends what was happening to me, nor did I even turn to a Christian Science practitioner, for my fear was so great that it prevented me from communicating with anyone.

Nevertheless, in the midst of this enormous confusion, I opted for Truth. I decided to apply myself to the study of the Bible and the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. The struggle was tremendous. Fear and pain assailed me, but little by little the false, material laws were silenced. The attacks became further apart each time, and finally one day I realized that more than two years had passed and not only was I alive but I was enjoying perfect health, with no kind of pain or physical limitation, actively working and taking numerous trips. I was saved.
