"Our Father"
Whether we are parents or children, God is our Father. This truth is the scientific basis for solving parent and child problems. It is also the basis for protection from illness, misfortune, and accident, as well as for healing where healing is needed.
The Bible asks, "Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us?" Mal. 2:10; And Christ Jesus taught his disciples, "After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name." Matt. 6:9; Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, interprets the first line of the prayer, "Our Father-Mother God, all-harmonious." And the second line, "Adorable One." Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 16.
The real Science of family relationships lifts us above the business of analyzing personal conflicts to the work of understanding each one's relationship to God. When any one of us clearly sees himself as the child of the one Father-Mother, he finds within himself the capacity to resolve conflicts and dissolve the errors that appear to cause discords and diseases.
