Gratitude is a very important word in our household these days

Gratitude is a very important word in our household these days. I have been a Christian Scientist all my life, but have not always understood what being a Christian Scientist really meant. Last year my husband and I had the privilege of having class instruction. What beautiful new horizons were opened to us, and how we learned to love God and to appreciate and apply the healing power of the Christ, Truth! The weekly Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly, from the Bible, and from the textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, have become an important part of our daily routine now.

Christian Science has been especially helpful in raising our four sons. Three of them, teen-agers, attend the Sunday School regularly, and are active in church work. The oldest is an active member of a Christian Science college organization. How grateful we are for the work of the Youth Committee.

I would like to tell of a healing our fifteen-year-old son had last fall. He was playing football in the yard of our home with some friends, when a ball thrown very hard hit his hand and dislocated his thumb. By the time he came into the house the thumb was quite swollen, and he could not move it.
