As a result of my being raised in a home where Christian Science was daily practiced, my whole experience—my childhood, college years, and then as a wife and mother—has been a joyous one, filled with blessings and demonstrations of the power of Truth to bring about harmonious living.

One healing of our daughter for which I am particularly grateful occurred some time ago. As a small child she had suffered from enlarged tonsils and adenoids. As a consequence her breathing was often labored and her hearing impaired. I prayed earnestly and had the help of Christian Science practitioners at various times, but although there was some improvement, the condition was not completely healed, and at times it reappeared in a more aggravated form.

The laws of our state required an annual physical examination for children at the beginning of each school year, and this presented a problem to us, since the report always noted the condition and showed a defect in our daughter's hearing ability. Because this child had had many healings in Christian Science, and, except for this condition, her experience had always been a happy, normal expression of good, at times it seemed discouraging that this condition should continue. However, there was never any doubt about relying wholeheartedly on Christian Science for the healing.
