Gaining the Highest Inspiration

Inspiration—the feeling of animation and satisfaction that comes from transcending one's everyday level of thinking, performance, and insight—is a state we all enjoy. For the writer, architect, administrator, it's an essential element in achieving his best results.

Spiritual inspiration, the consciousness of God's love and presence and the good this implies for each of us today, is a natural accompaniment of a genuine understanding of Christian Science. And it's an essential component of metaphysical healing. Where can spiritual inspiration be found, then? Mrs. Eddy tells us. "Your highest inspiration is found nearest the divine Principle and nearest the scientific expression of Truth." The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 248;

Divine Principle, God, is the origin of all that is good, and all spiritual inspiration derives from Principle. Therefore inspiration is really unlimited. There is as much of it as we are willing and humble enough to accept. Inspiration is as close at hand as is God. And God, scientifically speaking, is forever close at hand, for He is actually All. Inspiration is not something that is accessible to you and not to me, or to me and not to you, for Principle is Love. "Love is impartial and universal," Mrs. Eddy assures us, "in its adaptation and bestowals." Science and Health, p. 13;
