In the Bible we are told, "I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding" (Jer. 3:15). Mrs. Eddy ordained the Holy Bible and Science and Health to be our pastors. The Bible Lessons in the Christian Science Quarterly lift our thinking from materiality to the practical demonstration of spiritual ideas, which have their source in God.

Out of numberless healings, may I share these? Some years ago, holding my tiny grandson on my arm, I stepped into a clothes closet for a garment. As I closed the door, the child screamed. He had placed a finger in the crack near the hinge of the door. Putting his hand in mine, I declared his true sonship with the Father. There were no more tears. That evening when I fed him, neither hand showed a mark. No one was told of this incident. I still remain in awe of God's ever-presence.

Four years before I began the study of Christian Science, a public librarian introduced me to The Christian Science Monitor, speaking of it as the "best." She was a member of an orthodox church. I began to take the Saturday issue. After three years I found I had been healed of fainting spells, and of a chronic sinus infection for which I had doctored many months. My husband, after what had been nineteen years of periodic unemployment, was given government work. Since his retirement in 1963 he has been busier than men half his years, often doing heavier work from choice.
