"You are God's perfect child" were the words spoken to me by a Christian Scientist friend when I was in bed for the ninth day due to nervous exhaustion. This was in 1943. I received my healing, and since then I have proven these words many times.

About five years ago I suddenly found it difficult to lift my left arm more than a few inches. Later the movement in my legs, arms, and hands was seriously limited.

As a class-taught student of Christian Science I knew that I must pray more vigorously for myself. I prayed alone for some time, then felt the need for help, so I called a Christian Science practitioner for treatment. She repeatedly assured me of God's great love for His children. The practitioner had me study "the scientific statement of being," in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, part of which declares (p. 468): "Spirit is God, and man is His image and likeness. Therefore man is not material; he is spiritual." I knew that if God is All-in-all, He cannot be contained in a mortal body, or in anything, and therefore must encompass all my thinking.
