Together with much gratitude to God for Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, and for Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, I wish to express gratitude for the devoted Christian Science practitioners. Their understanding of this promise in the Bible and their expression of it has brought healing to me on several occasions: "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear" (I John 4:18).
The faithful and persistent work of a practitioner has many times helped me awake to the harmonious reality of being. Before I was introduced to Science, I had been having severe pain and swelling in one of my legs. At times I was unable to walk or work due to this condition. Our family doctor stated that it was a form of arthritis and was incurable. Medically he could do no more than ease the pain, and he said recurrence was inevitable from time to time. When I became acquainted with Science, I asked for help, and the diseased condition was healed with one prayerful treatment, and has never returned.
A severe burn on my hand was healed in just a few hours.
