Are "They" Out to Get You?
One dismal night in the middle of my military basic training I found myself reviewing all the discouraging experiences of the previous few weeks.
Our group had slipped to a point of extremely low morale. Along with depression, there was outright hatred of the whole military establishment. No matter what we did, it seemed as if "they" were out to get us. In the absence of joy, tensions began to build. Then I found myself faced with several health problems. It was at this point that I recognized the trap I had fallen into.
I saw the urgency of dealing with the condition in Christian Science, which teaches that every problem in human experience begins with a false belief, a false impression about the real man and real universe of God's making. The answer, obviously, is to find out the truth, the spiritual fact. That is how Christ Jesus healed.
