My first outstanding healing in Christian Science was some forty years ago. My mother was very fearful. She called a doctor, who diagnosed my case as double pneumonia and said it would not be necessary to send me to a hospital as I would probably not live through the night anyhow. My dear mother then turned to a teacher of Christian Science who lived next door to us. She told my mother to trust God's great love for me. My mother was then able to leave me in my room alone with God, and to think constantly of the ninety-first Psalm through the night, as the practitioner had asked that she do. Meanwhile the practitioner prayed for me. I awakened at five the next morning completely healed.

There have been healings of nervous breakdown, colds, dog bites, and so-called children's diseases in raising my son and daughter in this teaching. It has helped us all meet problems of lack and limitation, helped us find right employment and rewarding activity, and helped us demonstrate good companionship and to meet our every human need.

Several years ago my son-in-law invited me to go to Aruba in the Dutch West Indies to be with my daughter and their two children while he did some mountain climbing in South America. Several days after our arrival in Aruba, my little three-year-old grandson was attacked with a very serious illness. There were no practitioners available in that area, so all my daughter and I had to work with were the Bible, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and our trust in God based on previous healings.
