I write this testimony not only out of great gratitude for Christian Science but also with deepest appreciation of the young college girl who spoke to me of its healing efficacy. At that time I was at very low ebb mentally and physically. Through the guidance of the girl's mother, I began studying the Bible daily together with Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy—the two textbooks used by students of Christian Science. Also an attendant at a nearby Christian Science Reading Room was very helpful and compassionate. Soon some of the depression left me, giving way to joy, and from that time Christian Science has been my only medicine and guide.

In a short time my husband also began studying Science, and we started to attend church services. At times it seemed that our progress was slow and the path steep, but through our trust in God's care we have had many proofs of divine healing power.

One healing I would like to relate took place several years ago while I was serving as Second Reader in our branch church. Late one Saturday night I awakened from sleep with severe pains in my head, back, and legs. I called to my husband, and he got the textbooks and started reading aloud to me. However, it soon became apparent that it was best to engage the services of a Christian Science practitioner, and this was done. The practitioner reminded us that God loves, guards, and protects His children and we need not fear. She assured us that God is the only power and said, "Let us trust the treatment and prove this." For days the pain persisted. I still could not walk freely, so the treatment was continued.
