Overcoming the Last Enemy

The Bible prophesies that death, the last enemy, shall be destroyed. How can this be? What weapons can we use to accomplish this destruction? Not material but spiritual weapons: love, which makes envy or hate impossible; purity, whose very presence is the absence of sin; faith in divine Spirit—conviction and confident trust in God—which erases fear. By living such qualities, which express God as Life, we outgrow fear of the illusion called death.

Love, purity, faith are eternal. All good is indestructible. It is God's very being. Our individual expression of good reflects Life. It is the evidence of our immortality, since good cannot die. Fear of death and belief that it is inevitable claim to enslave mortals, but these negative arguments are destroyed by "bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ." II Cor. 10:5;
