Immorality—It Can Be Defeated!

In London, at the time of the Battle of Britain, a young mother was expecting her second child. The air was thick with planes; bombs had fallen in her very street; sirens wailed day and night.

Yet, amid the tumult, one clear prayer kept recurring to her. It took the form of the first two lines of a hymn she had often sung in the Church of Christ, Scientist, she attended:
