With the great amount of publicity given today to the effects of knee injuries in athletics, I feel impelled to give my testimony of healing. It presents practical proof that disabling results are not inevitable and that corrections can be made without surgery.
When a youngster, I fell three times due to a faulty roller skate. One knee was struck on the same place each time. The bruising and laceration, though severe, were quickly and painlessly healed through the application of scientific truths. My family were Christian Scientists, and I was a pupil in the Christian Science Sunday School.
Later, it appeared that the mechanism of the knee had been damaged. Sometimes there was pain and discomfort, but more often merely inconvenience when without warning the knee would collapse and the leg become useless. This might occur when I was walking, swimming, dancing, or indulging in any form of physical activity, all of which was very much a part of my life.
