Yield and Advance

A truck stood in a narrow alley waiting for an oncoming car to back up and allow it to enter the busy street. Each vehicle contained an angry driver blowing his horn and shouting, the truck driver demanding right-of-way, the other refusing to budge.

Long after I walked past this scene, I pondered the situation. In amusement I wondered how long each driver would hotly insist on his rights.

"Why," I thought, "they could stay there all night yelling and honking."
