My first testimony in the Christian Science periodicals was...
My first testimony in the Christian Science periodicals was printed in the July 29, 1944, Sentinel. Since I wrote that testimony, I have had many trials, but also triumphs through the steadfast application of Christian Science.
During the intervening years since my first written testimony, I have witnessed in my family many healings, including those of torn ligaments in my knee, colds, pneumonia, arthritis, peritonitis, asthma, and cancer. In most of these healings we had prayerful treatment from Christian Science practitioners, for whose help we are deeply grateful.
A very valuable demonstration connected with home was made with the help of an experienced Christian Scientist in another country. As a widow with seven children, I felt led to move to a university town some distance from the small town where my husband and I had kept our home for many years. This proved to be a benefit in every way to me and my family. I have always been grateful for the prayerful help given me at that time. My attention was called to Mrs. Eddy's statement, "Be sure that God directs your way; then, hasten to follow under every circumstance" (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 117).
