Like all students of Christian Science who have applied an understanding of this Science to problems, I have had many proofs that it is the healing truth. These proofs include solutions to problems of supply, business, human relationships, and guidance, and the healing of physical disorders.

In Science and Health Mrs. Eddy writes (p. 246): "Life is eternal. We should find this out, and begin the demonstration thereof." Thus demonstration of the fundamental fact that "Life is eternal" depends upon our discernment that it is; and each proof of the power of God, Life, enlarges the revelation, strengthens our conviction, and contributes to the final demonstration of Life's eternality as the absolute fact of creation.

One of these proofs for which I am most grateful took place about six years ago. There were symptoms of deteriorating eyesight. I found I was growing farsighted; there were blurred images and the like—signs, mortal mind would say, of middle years. I recognized this suggestion as part of the lie that man is material, but I was really awakened to the arrogance of this mesmeric belief by the frequent references that associates, particularly contemporaries at my place of business, made to the fact that I didn't wear glasses. "You're fortunate you don't have to wear glasses." "At your age, I should think you'd need glasses." "Don't you wear glasses yet?"
