Healing as a result of ascending thought

When human thought descends into fear, ignorance, or sin, this mental darkness can seem to appear on the body in the form of disease. The remedy is obvious. Change the descent into ascent.

Ascending thought is thought becoming spiritualized—thought that is reaching out avidly for a higher understanding of God's allness and the perfection of man's spiritual being as God's image.

If we really desire this remedy, our first concern is spiritualization—growth in grace for its own sake. We are more concerned with a knowledge of Truth than what this knowledge will accomplish in terms of human comfort. But genuine growth in the things of Spirit is not an abstract exercise.
