Having always been a student of Christian Science, I wish to express my gratitude for the patient guidance of my parents, Sunday School teachers, and many practitioners who have aided in my understanding of Christian Science, which resulted in the following physical healing.

While working alone at my summer job, I was involved in a gasoline explosion in which burning gasoline was splashed in my face and on my neck, chest, and left arm. Upon extinguishing the flames, I cried out loud that God was my Life and nothing could separate me from His harmonious being. My thoughts turned immediately to the truth of God and His spiritual idea, man, and to the steps which I had been taught to take in giving myself a Christian Science treatment through prayer.

My physical condition was shaky, but my mental state was much calmer and clearer. I began to repeat aloud "the scientific statement of being" given in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. The opening words are (p. 468): "There is no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter. All is infinite Mind and its infinite mani– festation, for God is All–in–all." My physical condition became quieter.
