By this testimony I wish to express sincere gratitude for all the blessings I have had through Christian Science, including regeneration of thought.

This healing occurred when I attended a Christian Science testimony meeting for the first time. Upon entering the church auditorium I was touched by a sense of holiness that gratefully aroused my receptivity. As I heard the text of the reading from the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, this expanded my receptivity so much that the old way of thinking was given up. New insights into the Bible, as well as inspired thoughts from the textbook, took their place. Never before in a church service had I heard the words, "Let us unite in silent prayer." This announcement, inviting the congregation to join in prayerful unity, evoked a deep peace in me and brought about a sincere, silent prayer to God, to whom I had not prayed for precisely ten years. Hymn No. 64 from the Christian Science Hymnal was both promise and confirmation to me. Although I did not wholly understand, I nevertheless immanently perceived the truth expressed in the last line of the hymn—"I touch the fringes of eternity."

When this Wednesday evening testimony meeting was over, I discovered that I was leaving the church as a new–thinking person. The physical healing of a heart condition, from which I had suffered for one and a half years, took place, and I joyfully began the study of Christian Science.
