This testimony is long overdue
This testimony is long overdue.
About two years after I returned home from the First World War, I became ill and very discouraged. A physician, a longtime friend of mine and of my family, after examining me, asked permission of my mother to call in another physician. This request was granted, and not only one physician, but three others, examined me. All four said I had a short time to live—perhaps a month. They said there was poison in my system from excessive smoking.
The physician, my good friend, remained with me after the other physicians had left, and we had a long talk. He advised me to use common sense and to take up the study of Christian Science. He said it would not hurt me and it could heal me. He had known several people who had been given up to die by doctors but who had been healed by studying Christian Science.
