Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; and walk in love (Eph. 5:1, 2)
The word mimetai, here translated "followers," is derived from the same Greek root as our modern word "mimic," and has the literal meaning of "imitators." Moffatt translates, "Copy God, then, as his beloved children, and lead lives of love, just as Christ loved you."
