I wish to take this opportunity to express my sincere, humble, and heartfelt gratitude for Christian Science. Our family has both witnessed and experienced the healing efficacy of Christian Science for forty-one years.

I would like to relate a healing that stands out as a beacon in my experience. About twenty-three years ago I collapsed at work. First aid was administered, a doctor was called, and in turn a heart specialist. When I regained consciousness, I emphatically insisted that I be taken home. My mother immediately called a Christian Science practitioner. The doctor arrived and after examination diagnosed the case as a severe nervous breakdown and heart condition. He said I would go through a crisis. No medication was given. On the third day the doctor returned on his own initiative and took an electrocardiogram. He stated that if I was not taken to hospital, he would not be responsible for my life. Whereupon my mother told him we were Christian Scientists and were relying on Christian Science alone for the healing. He was dismissed and told that he would not be implicated in any way. The practitioner continued to give me treatment day and night.

At the end of one month the heart specialist again called. After seeing me he stated there was remarkable progress and that perhaps Christian Science could heal the nervous breakdown, but he failed to see how the heart could be healed unless I went to hospital for medical treatment. He was again lovingly and graciously dismissed.
