The Word Always Made Flesh
Healing in Christian Science is the practical demonstration of God's ever-presence. Healing takes place when we understand this ever-presence. It does not take place when we believe God to be high above us somewhere. Nor does it come as a result of our merely thinking or speaking words about God. Healing is God's own doing, which we recognize.
Christ Jesus lived in a constant state of recognition of God's presence and power. He had no thought of himself as a mortal trying to get close to God; he had no affection for the mortal sense of existence. To him, there was no life but that which he lived for the Father. And his works bore witness to the truth of his words, "Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God." Matt. 5:8;
God, the divine Principle of the universe, never stops manifesting Himself. Jesus exemplified this divine manifestation, showing that God always loves man and cares for him. He proved that anyone who acknowledges the human appearing of the divine idea, the Christ, can bear witness in his own life to what the divine Principle is always doing.
