Church Dedications
The Bideford and North Devon Weekly Gazette October 30, 1970
In 1925, a group of Christian Scientists from Bideford district began to meet together in private homes to hold services. Very soon rented premises were obtained in Coldharbour, Bideford, and the property was purchased in 1948, and services were held there until May of last year.
Progressive steps were taken towards securing recognition by The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, and in December, 1932, this was obtained, and Christian Science Society, Bideford, came into being.
