Love Heals the Troubled Child
In these days, when the material sense of things is suggesting a world in turmoil, not even children are free from feelings of unrest, guilt, and frustration. The false belief of the troubled child may invade the serenity of any home, and the student of Christian Science faced with this problem feels well equipped to deal with it by virtue of his understanding of the spiritual perfection of all being.
The Christian Science parent, teacher, or youth worker dealing with the so-called troubled child starts out by seeing a troubled emotional state as totally unreal because it is not created by God, the only source of being.
He knows that because God created him as His own expression the child is sustained, cared for, and governed by the one divine Mind. He is not a material mortal, anxious, insubordinate, hyperactive, withdrawn. Christ Jesus taught man's oneness with God. Divine Mind expresses itself in harmonious, joyous, and controlled action, and the child with whom one is dealing is, in truth, that expression. He never experienced a hurt; he never knew rejection; he never was the object of harsh discipline. Only infinite Love has ever influenced, conditioned, and guarded him.
