Ever since 1910, I have regularly attended Christian Science Sunday School or church services. The teachings of Christian Science have become a dominant part of my life.

As a high school teacher from 1924 to 1967, I had many opportunities to make mine a practical religion. The pupils' interest was always my first concern. With Science as the source of my own inspiration I was able on many occasions to free students who felt they could not master a subject. When I came through with an unusual presentation in geometry or trigonometry, I would pause for a moment mentally, thanking God for my ability to reflect His goodness. As Jesus said, "I can of mine own self do nothing" (John 5: 30).

While sending four children through college, I did drafting work during the summer months from 1941 to 1959. In all my undertakings I have relied on God's guidance, whether it was teaching, drawing, building, or doing the simplest things in day-to-day living. It was not a case of turning to God when I had a problem; I was more or less turned toward Him in everything I did or thought. As a result my undertakings have always worked out. An intelligence greater than mine has made the tasks quite simple.
