Finding Satisfying Work
Unsatisfying employment or unemployment is a deceptive state of existence. Our true employment is a constant identification with our real, complete being as the spiritual idea of perfect Mind, God. As we continuously strive to express, or reflect, God, good, we are rightly and consistently employed, and any human evidence of being in the wrong kind of work or out of work must disappear.
Mrs. Eddy states, "Hold thought steadfastly to the enduring, the good, and the true, and you will bring these into your experience proportionably to their occupancy of your thoughts." Science and Health, p. 261; Believing this and realizing that man's activity is subject only to God's control, you can express ability, intelligence, accuracy, and poise, as well as love and joy, in whatever you are guided to do.
God determines man's position; so one should be alert to hold to his real identity and refuse to believe that he must be devious or willful in order to be successful. One lives divine Principle by identifying himself as Mind's compound expression, including all good, forever free from the material impositions and halfway positions that would tend to influence him adversely. The only place where there is any demand for adjustment is our consciousness we need to see that God and His harmonious creation have no need of being adjusted. We must completely abandon any false standards and human will and say as Christ Jesus did, "Father,...not my will, but thine, be done." Luke 22:42;
