Christian Science first came into my life when I was a bride...
Christian Science first came into my life when I was a bride away from my native land. At that time I was unhappy, lonely, and dissatisfied with a way of life that was completely alien to me.
In my youth I had associated with a group of young atheists, although I had been brought up in a Protestant religion. In my great need and extremity I reached out for something more than empty words and cold logic and found the great heart of Love.
Mary Baker Eddy tells us in the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures (p. 24): "He to whom 'the arm of the Lord' is revealed will believe our report, and rise into newness of life with regeneration. This is having part in the atonement; this is the understanding, in which Jesus suffered and triumphed."
