"If you plant carrot seeds . . ."

What did Christ Jesus do to cause the greatest single revolution among men? He didn't depose any kings, start or end a war, or conquer lands. He simply knew what was true of God and man, voiced this truth, and lived it.

The goal of his three-year ministry was to overthrow the false, mortal concept of man by bringing out man's real nature and his unbroken relationship to God. This was the only way he could do what he came to do—resurrect mankind from mortality and prove man's real, God-derived perfection. As long as people believed themselves mortals and thought mortal thoughts, they were bound to act like mortals, live and die like mortals. As the Apostle Paul later warned, "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." Gal. 6:7; Or, as a modern mother paraphrased Paul's words, "If you plant carrot seeds, you are going to get carrots."

Of course, wrong thinking doesn't touch God or the real man God has made, but it does influence us as long as we identify ourselves with it. If we have thought our way into trouble, we must understand our way out. This means not alone a change in the quality of human thoughts; it means a revolutionary change in the very basis of thought from matter to Spirit, from mortality to immortal being.
