A MERRY HEART
My heart was miserably haunted
by fear I was unloved, unwanted,
till I commenced to try
to make myself a little more
pleasant and lovable than before.
This proves to be so great a task,
I have no time to ask
whether I am loved or not—in fact,
I have more tact
than shock my heart with such a query—
it is so merry!
