MY ANGELS AND I
When I awake to morning sun,
I take a moment just for thanks—
Thanks that God and I are one,
That God and His angels and I join ranks.
And that moment I take
spreads from moment to hour,
And I and my angels fry eggs
and sweep floors,
For, whatever I do,
from them comes the power
Of making each errand,
yes, all of my chores
A joy.
Thus when I awake to the morning sun
And take just a moment for thanks,
Then all day my God and I are one,
For God and His angels and I joined ranks.
