Is There a Hannah in Your Life?
The story is told that nearly a century ago a certain individual attended a revival meeting in a little town. He suddenly jumped to his feet and shouted, "If it wa'n't for Hannah [giving her full name], I could be a better Christian!" It so happened that Hannah was present, and naturally she objected. It was said that the minister had quite a time restoring order.
Is there a Hannah in your life? At times doesn't each one of us feel that if it weren't for a certain somebody he could be a better person? The answer to a problem in human relations is found right in one's own consciousness.
"But," someone may ask, "how am I responsible for another person's bad behavior?" It is true that we are not responsible for what someone else may do. However, we are responsible for our thoughts about him, our concept of him. Then someone may ask, "But what does his behavior have to do with my concept of him?"
