The wonderfully encouraging words at the very beginning of the Preface of the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, have come to me as an angel message many times when I was in need of spiritual inspiration, strength, and healing. They read: "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings."

I am grateful beyond words for having experienced the blessings of Christian Science since infancy. My parents were class taught. After my mother became an interested student of Christian Science, my sister and I attended Sunday School more regularly. I shall always be grateful for the fine teachers we had there. I recall with much gratitude the time, when I was twelve, that my parents gave me my own set of books—the Bible and Science and Health—and I began to study the Lesson-Sermon from the Christian Science Quarterly by myself.

While in college and away from home, I learned to depend upon this wonderful religion more than ever. It promoted my academic work and enabled me to overcome the self-consciousness and lack of confidence that had plagued me during my earlier school years. I joined the Christian Science college organization, whose weekly meetings provided me with much spiritual inspiration. I also made many lasting friendships there. During this time I also became a member of The Mother Church.
