In the Bible we read, "The word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword" (Hebr. 4:12). This was proved to us when our baby girl swallowed some poisonous insect spray. I heard her crying in great distress, and by the time I reached her, her little face was swollen and distorted. I instantly turned away from the physical sense testimony and declared, "This never happened. God is all-presence, so an accident never touched you." However, within a few minutes the symptoms became increasingly alarming, and I seemed to be nearly paralyzed with fear for the child's life. I called a Christian Science practitioner, who assured me help would be given immediately.

I began to sing hymns from the Christian Science Hymnal to the baby; and even though for about an hour she continued to get worse, I could gradually feel myself gaining an inward sense of peace and spiritual dominion. Within two hours the child was sleeping peacefully. When she awakened, she was completely free from any evidence of the poison. There were no aftereffects. I am humbly grateful for this healing.

I would also like to express my gratitude for the harmonious births of our two children. They were born at home with Christian Science treatment. During the months preceding the birth of the first child, I had an extreme amount of fear to overcome. Through continued daily prayer on my part and periodic help from a practitioner, I was freed of the fear less than a day before the baby was born. The birth was quick and safe.
