Heaven and Hell
Like so many other traditional beliefs, the old theological concept that heaven and hell are actual places is rapidly disappearing from human thought.
It would not be presumptuous to say that the teachings of Christian Science have played an important role in accelerating this change. This Science is showing mankind that all reality is spiritual, the infinite expression of a wholly loving God, whose will for man is unchanging good.
Heaven, then, is not some ghostly habitation—nobody knows where—reached through the doorway of death. Heaven is everywhere, a state of spiritual harmony. It is as boundless and ever present as God Himself, and must therefore be the dwelling place of the real man now and forever. This kingdom of heaven is experienced on earth in the degree that spiritual facts are understood and their moral implications practiced in everyday life. Mrs. Eddy defines "heaven" as "Harmony; the reign of Spirit; government by divine Principle; spirituality; bliss; the atmosphere of Soul." Science and Health, p. 587;
