I would like to express gratitude for our periodicals and for the testimonies of healing they contain. The testimonies are always the first thing I read, and I have been very much helped by them.

Mrs. Eddy writes in Science and Health (p. 424), "Accidents are unknown to God, or immortal Mind, and we must leave the mortal basis of belief and unite with the one Mind, in order to change the notion of chance to the proper sense of God's unerring direction and thus bring out harmony." I have had the joy of proving this in my own experience.

Recently a skillet of hot grease caught fire, and in my excitement I tried to beat it out with a spatula, spattering the hot grease into one eye and all over my face and neck. After washing the grease off I felt a great deal of pain and called on the services of a Christian Science practitioner. I remember her loving voice assuring me of God's healing presence. My fear being quieted and the truth affirmed, I went to work, and nothing was mentioned about my face. By noon, however, I was finding it difficult to see, and my eyes watered continually. By evening I couldn't open either eye. I got in touch with the practitioner again, and she told me she would mail me some references to read. She sounded so positive that I would be able to read them that I really looked forward to receiving them. I was able to read when they came in the mail the next day, and four days later my face was perfectly clear, without any scars, although the burns had been quite deep.
